April 11: The Law in Our Hearts

Scripture Reading — Hebrews 8:1-13

“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:” (Hebrews 8: 10)

This is perfection, that you may have My laws in your mind and written on your heart, for then alone can you be perfect.

These are not the laws of man, or the laws of the church, but My very own laws, which are the laws of the fruit of the Spirit, even love, grace, patience, longsuffering, tenderness, meekness, joy, gentleness, goodness, faith, temperance, understanding and compassion, hope and forgiveness.

When these attributes are written in your heart, you become so identified with them that you become loving, joyful, gentle, good, meek, faithful, temperate, full of understanding and compassion, patient and longsuffering, forgiving.

But first you must have these truths put in your mind, that you may know and understand that this higher law is My perfect law and is the law of heaven.

As your mind dwells on these truths your heart will be strengthened to accept these truths and your very life will live out these truths that you might become Christ-like, perfect in My law of love, purity and truth. (Proverbs 23: 7)
