April 4: Anointed with the Oil of Gladness

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 1 : 1-14

“Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.” (Hebrews 1 :9)

My beloved child, what is more to be desired than the oil of gladness? It will give you strength for your life’s journey, for truly, the joy of the Lord is your strength.

It was this joy which carried Me through the greatest trials of My life, for even when I faced the cross, it was the joy which I saw on the other side of the cross that gave Me the strength to go through My hours of rejection, betrayal, and suffering. “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2)

But this joy was only the result of My pure life. Only those who love righteousness and hate iniquity have the right to this anointing of gladness. You must always be careful, My child, to love that which is right in the eyes of your God. Not what man says is right will bring gladness, but what I, your God, show you is right. As you turn away from all iniquity and are pure in heart, even as I was, the anointing of gladness shall come into your innermost soul and you shall walk in My joy.
