Scripture Reading— Acts 4: 15-37

“For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.” (Acts 4:20)

This is the thing that makes your testimony richer and with greater impact than scores of others. You have “been there,” you have seen and you have heard.

But I want to warn you, that while it has a great impact on the common, ordinary folk, the leaders, who “have not been there, have not seen or heard,” resent what you say. They cannot bear your words. It makes them uncomfortable. It shows them up.

They have not been through or seen many things, such as:

1. The lands of persecution,
2. the dangers of prison and death,
3. the valley of separation and loneliness,
4. the nights of weeping and travail,
5. the struggle with self and dying to it,
6. the days and weeks of fasting,
7. the life of a mystic and saint,
8. the purity of absolute holiness in thought, word and deed,
9. the absolute commitment to My call,
10. the heart ablaze with My love and compassion,
11. your discerning of their sins.

Nevertheless, I call you to speak of these things, even the miracles of God you have seen and the secrets of eternity which I have whispered in your ear.
