December 2: The Lord Will Perfect that Which Concerns Me

Scripture Reading: Psalm 138:6-8

“The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.” (Psalm 138:8)

You can spend hours working on a certain thing and still it can come out all wrong. It is a very disappointing thing to work on a project a long time, only to find out you did something wrong and all your hours of work are wasted.

It is even more heart-breaking to spend part of a lifetime raising a family, educating them, training them, loving them— only to see them go astray in the pathway of sin and wander off on the road to Hell.

One of the greatest tragedies in life is to see a marriage break up, a home be dissolved and children separated from one or both of their parents.

In times of crises like these, when all you have done, and all you try to do is in vain and you feel so helpless and confused and have no way to turn, it is nice to know that you have Someone who can take all these ruined remains of your life and turn them into a work of perfection, so that everything will turn out right in the end.

When you give up and turn your problems over to Me, I will take the ruins of your life and I will bring something good and beautiful out of it.

What is it that you are troubled about today? What is burdening your soul? What is breaking your heart? What mountain lies in front of you, so high that it seems insurmountable? What enemy appears to be stronger than Me? What friends have forsaken you and turned against you? What finances do you urgently need right now? What work needs to be finished up? What guidance do you need in decisions you need to make today?

No matter what problem you are in now, turn the whole thing over to Me, My beloved one. Lean not on thine own understanding, trust in Me and I shall bring to pass that which is good for your soul (Proverbs 3:5, 6). I shall untangle the threads of your life. Nothing shall be wasted. I will bring good out of the trial also. Trust in Me! You will learn valuable lessons. You will become stronger in Me. I will receive glory through your life. All things will be perfectly brought into balance and I will perfect that which concerns your life. Don’t worry! Trust in Me.
