Expressions of the Heart

Don’t Let the forever loser Trigger You!

Greetings from the Valley of Angels with James 4:6-7, 10. “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. … Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”

Over the last few weeks I have had an old hymn in my head: “He Giveth More Grace.” I would like to share it with you to help you prepare for moments of confrontation from the forever loser by shakings, persecution, grief, sorrows, pain, false accusations, tauntings, fears, lies, etc.

He Giveth More Grace

Verse 1 He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater

He sendeth more strength when the labors increase

To added affliction He addeth His mercy

To multiplied trials His multiplied peace

Chorus His love has no limit
His grace has no measure

His pow’r has no boundary known unto men

For out of His infinite riches in Jesus

He giveth and giveth and giveth again

Verse 2 When we have exhausted our store of endurance

When our strength has failed
Ere the day is half done

When we reach the end of our hoarded resources

Our Father’s full giving is only begun

Verse 3 Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision,
Our God ever yearns His resources to share;
Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing;
The Father both thee and thy load will upbear.[1]

Word for the Lord
As I was waking up on January 18, 2020, I heard the Holy Spirit speak to me in my spirit, warning me about the forever loser:

“He’ll be testing your triggers all the time. See to it that you don’t react.

“You are especially vulnerable when you are tired. Get plenty of rest. But the rest you need the most is the rest you practice in My Presence. It’s the rest of trust—the walk of the Spirit—the walk of faith. That rest comes by letting go of your cares and concerns, leaving them with Me.

“Remain quiet in your spirit. Silence your over-active mind and emotions by an act of your will, choosing to trust Me in everything. This greatly unnerves the devil. Your adversary, the forever loser, will lose the battles he tries to pick with you when you refuse to react.

[In Acts 16] “Paul did not immediately take on the demonized slave girl who spoke true words through dark spiritual revelation. He was walking with Me and I gave him the gift of tolerance for many days. The devil thought that his setup would give him a victory. But Paul didn’t respond to the trigger until My time. When Paul reacted by casting out the spirit of divination from the girl, it triggered the devil in her owners to drag Paul and Silas to the magistrates, have them beaten and put in the stocks in the highest security place in the jail. Paul could have prevented the beating by declaring his Roman citizenship, but he was walking in My Spirit and didn’t allow himself to be triggered by self-preservation.

“Paul remained in the Spirit and led Silas in singing praises at midnight. These acts of obedience to My promptings created an atmosphere of My Presence that caused the earth to tremble.[2] Paul remained in My Spirit, calling out into the darkness to the jailer through the Word of Knowledge that he not commit suicide as he was being triggered to end his life without knowing Me.

“I came to that Philippian household that night to transform the lives of a whole family and their servants. This Gentile family joined the community of faith that had already begun in the house of Lydia and the “one new man” was born in Philippi.

“Paul and Silas had the pleasure of then declaring their Roman citizenship, making the magistrates come to them and apologize before they left the city.

“Coming under My control in your spirit, your soul, and therefore your body, sets you up for supernatural intervention when you are under attack. Don’t waste your time and Mine by reacting in the flesh to the devil’s attempts to trigger you. That will only end in embarrassment for you and delay for My Kingdom. There is very little time left. If you want Me to use you, you must walk in My Spirit.

“Draw close to Me and practice My Presence. Let My Spirit rule in your whole being. Be quick to repent when you slip, and keep getting up and running after Me with deliberate immediateness. Although you will experience persecution and trouble, don’t give the devil the satisfaction of emotional reactions to his triggers. Don’t allow feelings of rejection, sadness, anger, hurt, or bitterness. My Holy Spirit will help you to bring glory to Me by His fruit of self-control.

“This is the season to practice until you get this right consistently, for the increase of trouble from the forever loser is his MO,[3] for he knows his time is short.”

So keep on resting your soul in the love and Presence of our Lord. He will keep on giving His grace to enable us to keep on resisting the forever loser’s attempts to trigger us! He hates to be ignored, so keep on ignoring him consistently!

Thank you for your prayers!
We were able to arrive at my sister’s bedside two weeks ago to be with her about the last seven hours of her life. Although she was not “conscious,” we know that her spirit was hearing every word we said, sang, and prayed. At one point I felt strongly that we had prayed through for securing her passage to Heaven. When I shared her passing with a number of intercessors, Pastor Mark Bristow texted me that he heard the Holy Spirit say, “In Heaven—AT LAST!” That was so comforting. Please continue to hold up the rest of the family members, especially the two brothers (Loren and Daryl) who were living with her, and my younger sister, Chris, who is also overseeing our 91-year-old dad in a nursing facility.

Please pray!
Special prayer is requested by ETH Sunil who has been undergoing harassment and persecution for seven years on false accusations. His case is before a high court panel of judges now with the threat of three years imprisonment. Please pray for total exoneration and safety for him, his family, and the flock he shepherds. Many have come to the Lord through his evangelism. Also pray for his financial needs to be met for lawyer fees, etc.

Please hold up Philip and me as we head for the Philippines for the next three weeks. We are expecting a great Outpouring of the Holy Spirit!

Thank you!
We so appreciate the love gifts that are sent to keep the lights on and all the many things that go into moving forward into all that God is leading us into in this great new year of fresh vision!

You handmaiden and servant,
Sharon and Philip
