 Isaiah 4:5-6 (AMP). “Then the Lord will create over the entire site of Mount Zion and over her assemblies, a cloud by day, smoke, and the brightness of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory and brilliance will be a canopy [a defense, a covering of His divine love and protection]. And there will be a pavilion for shade from the heat by day, and a refuge and a shelter from the storm and the rain.”

On our way to the Philippines last month, we changed planes in Shanghai, China, and spent about four hours praying in tongues walking up and down through the airport. Almost everyone in the airport had a mask on. We didn’t have masks, and I prayed that if we needed them, God would move someone to give them to us. We reasoned that if anyone else in the airport was carrying the coronavirus, that they were keeping it inside their masks!

We exercised wisdom, took precautions, and stood on the Word of God to maintain our good health throughout the journey. But we could sense the fear among people in public places, is they hid behind their masks, hoping that it would be enough to protect them.

I have been meditating on God’s promise to Rees Howells when he was in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) at the Rusitu Mission during the influenza epidemic in 1918-1919. As people began to die in the area, although there were sick ones on the mission station, no one was dying. When the local chief sent a deputation, they asked Mr. Howells, “Have you had any deaths?”

“No,” replied Mr. Howells. “Have you had any?”

“Yes, many,” they said.

“But can’t the witch doctors do anything to help you?”

“Oh, two of them were among the first to go down.”

“But what about your ancestral spirits?”

“Our fathers never had this illness,” they answered, “so their spirits cannot deal with it.”

“So,” returned Mr. Howells, “the witch doctors have failed, and the ancestral spirits have failed — but our God has not failed.”

“Are none of your people going to die then?” they inquired.

The Holy Spirit whispered, “Tell them that no one can die on the station.”

So, he answered, “No! Not one will die on the mission station.”

Because the Lord gave him guidance, he was able to stand and have the victory of faith, although the number of cases increased until about fifty were down at a time.

A few days later a second deputation arrived. “Have you had any deaths yet?” was the first question.

“Not one.”

“Are you going to have any?”

“No. Not one will die on the mission station.”

“Well,” they said, “the chief has sent us to ask whether, if this disease comes, some of us can come to the mission station to escape death.”

“Tell the chief that any of your people that want to can come to the station. We will look after them, and not one will die. But, remember this — if you come, you must admit that our God is the living God, and that He can help where the witch doctors and the ancestral spirits have failed!”

Within hours a mournful procession of Gospel-hardened souls were making their way to the mission station with the fear of death on their faces. And after that dozens of them came up. Rees Howells discovered that the Holy Spirit inside of him was stronger than the flu, and those who came were turned to Him!

I was also reminded of how John G. Lake, missionary to South Africa, stood firmly on Romans 8:2, “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”

“By January 1910, he was headed back to Africa in the midst of a raging [bubonic] plague. He was among the few that ministered to the sick and dying. He proved to local physicians that the germs would not live on his body due to the Holy Spirit alive in Him. He actually verified this under a microscope showing that the germs died upon contact with his body. Those who witnessed the experiment stood in amazement as Lake gave glory to God explaining that: ‘It is the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. I believe that just as long as I keep my soul in contact with the living God so that His Spirit is flowing into my soul and body, that no germ will ever attach itself to me, for the Spirit of God will kill it.’” (Your Power in the Holy Spirit by John G. As I was meditating on all this, Rona sent me the following prophetic word released by Charlie Shamp on May 29, 2018:

I recently had a troubling vision that I believe will require intercessors to take very seriously and pray into during this time. In this vision I was carried to a place that seemed to be a makeshift laboratory. As I looked around, I witnessed someone creating a sinister plan to harm humanity. I could see a laptop filled with thousands of files containing schemes, bomb-making instructions, and research on building home-brewed biological and radiological weapons.

While I stood and looked God brought me into a microscopic dimension where I could see past the view of the naked eye and into a much deeper realm. I could see microscopic organisms that were being created with the intention of spreading bacterial infection to wreak havoc on many, a bio terror attack.

The Lord spoke to me and said, “There are terror cells hidden in America and the nations of the earth. Satan has managed to infect men’s minds with demonic plans involving the intentional release of biological and radiological agents to harm many, they are planning it even now. Those that would commit such demonic acts are filled with the most deep spirit of darkness. The devil used disease from the beginning to destroy humanity, but my Son was manifested that he might destroy the works of Satan in the earth. My church must rise in this hour and pray against these terror attacks that the enemy wants to bring. If they will pray the attack will be uncovered! For there are multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision who have yet to receive me as Lord, but to those that fear my name will the Son of righteousness arise with healing in his wings. I will cover the people with my feathers and under my wings will they find protection. They will have no fear of this terror, nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor for the destruction that seeks to lay waste in cities. I the Lord will be their habitation there will be no evil befall them, neither will any plague come nigh their dwelling.”

Suddenly I saw a mantle, that looked as though someone of royalty would have worn it, fall to the ground. I heard the Lord say, “I’m offering this mantle to many in this hour, but who will carry it to the ends of the earth for my glory?” I asked the Lord, “What mantle is it?” I heard the Lord say, “It’s the mantle of abundant life! For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made you free from the law of sin and death. There was one who carried this mantle many generations ago, my servant John G. Lake. He carried it throughout the earth and displaced disease, darkness and death. Through his hands the most deadly diseases were brought to nothing and cities came under my hand of protection and prosperity. This mantle is coming again in the earth to combat what the enemy has set in place to come, but who will carry this mantle for my glory? If my people, which are called by my name will humble themselves, pray and seek my face they will receive it. I will come to work with them, healing and protection will be in their land. I will send my word and heal those around them, deliver them from destruction. I will deliver their soul from death, their eyes from tears and their feet from falling. Behold, I will bring them health and a cure. I will reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth found only in my Kingdom. A true Apostolic authority is about to be revealed that has not been seen in many generations. One that will be known not by title, but by Acts! One that carries authentic power to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the masses. Where the enemy would use some to kill, steal and destroy this anointing will come to bring life and life more abundantly. And there will be a sign that follow those that receive, if they drink any deadly thing it will not hurt them.”

I could see the protection of God’s hand come over regions and bio terror could not penetrate past the veil of the mantle. I saw churches that became distribution centers that released peace upon cities and regions. They had the ability to expose darkness by prayer and secret terror cells were uncovered. I know what I was shown, and we must not be slothful in prayer at this time. We must be diligently seeking God for the protection of the nations. We must earnestly desire this mantle of abundant life to come upon the leaders of the body of Christ. I’m calling upon all believers and intercessors to begin to pray this word through and cover your cities with Psalms 91. Beloved, it’s time for the mature sons to step up into their ministry and carry the mantle for our Father’s glory! Intercede for China and the nations regarding this evil plague and pray for their leaders to arise in the power of this mantle. Look for the article included herein about the doctor who alerted the public about this new coronavirus and what the Lord showed Annie Lee Billings when she prayed. (below)

God has designed for us a covering of Glory for our defense. It’s time for us to really believe what we believe. Believing the truth of Word of God is the key. Sometimes it takes confessing with our mouths for our souls (reasoning, emotions, will) to “get it,” but confession with believing is what opens the door to the abundant life.

The Philippines
Thank you for your prayers as we finished our mission in the Philippines. Many good seeds were planted into good ground among the Baptist pastors. Many hungry souls were fed, and much revelation was added to their understanding. The hungry ones are continuing to seek the Lord.

Our final Sunday was spent in a wonderful assembly of God in Subic that is Christy Bacon’s home church, where we had two wonderful services. The Holy Spirit was poured out in a powerful way.

We prayed much in the short time we had in the Incheon Airport in Seoul, Korea, where we changed planes to return to the States (instead of going through Shanghai!). We are doing all we know to obey God in His instruction to “Secure Asia.”

I spoke with our contacts in India a few days ago and they are gathering the necessary information to put together the All India/All Asia Global Outpouring Convention in December. We are working with a travel agent to get the details in place for our tour in conjunction with the Convention. Let us know if you are interested. We are scheduled to depart on November 28 and return around December 10.
