February 23: It Is Harvest Time Now!

Scripture Reading: John 4:35-38

“Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then Cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.” (John 4: 35)

It is harvest time now!

Too many of My children have the same idea as the people of My earthly homeland — “Four more months, and then the harvest.”

Every true farmer loves Harvest Time. In Bible times they always lived in anticipation of it; but when it comes to winning souls for Me many never realize that Harvest Time is not something in the future — it is in the present!

My children are the same today. They are always hoping and thinking that “someday” they will go to the mission field; “someday” they will quit their job and preach the Gospel— “Someday!” But the harvest field is in the present and in your presence.

All you have to do is lift up your eyes and look all around you. Souls are dying and going to a lost eternity all around you every day.

There is no need to wait “four months” to bring in the harvest. It is ready now. This is Revival Time. You can have revival any time you want it — anytime you will step out into the fields with the anointing of the Lord upon your life. And you can receive this anointing when you seek the Lord with fasting and prayer.

My Father’s will was My will. It still is. I finished the work which He gave Me to do. You too must seek to finish the work which He has given you to do.

His will should also be your will; and you too should desire to finish His work.

It is the Father’s will that no one should perish, but that all should come to repentance (II Peter 3:9).

But how can they repent of their sins if they do not hear the Gospel? And how can they hear if you do not tell them? (Romans 10:14)

When I saw the great crowd coming with the woman from the village, and knew that they were hurrying to the well to meet Me and hear My teaching. I saw, not a crowd of curious people, but hurting, rejected souls, looking for the truth that would set them free from their bondages and relieve them of their suffering and pain. They were looking for “ME.”

My heart went out to them. I loved them. I always do love the hungry, seeking soul. I had gone to Samaria because I knew it was harvest time in that village.

This was the first “nation,” outside of My own, that I went to as a missionary, and it was the beginning of missionary work to the nations for the Early Church.

I never forgot Samaria. When I went to Heaven I gave The Great Commission to My disciples: … “Ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. “ (Acts 1:8)

After the Holy Ghost fell on the church, on the day of Pentecost, Philip was immediately called to go to Samaria to preach the Gospel to them, and they had a great revival there (Acts 8:5-25). It was the first great revival after the one in Jerusalem.

I loved Samaria and the Samaritans. I still do. I will visit them again in these last days and they shall know that I am the Lord, their Saviour and their Messiah.

Blessed are they who preach the Gospel to the Samaritans — and to all the nations of the world!
