February 28: Mission Accomplished

Scripture Reading — John 17:1-26

“Father, the hour is come;” (John 17: 1)

It is important to know My timing. My Father has a schedule for you, just like He had for Me. There will be no lingering around after a job is done. Like Me, you will be able to say, “I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.” (John 17:4)

There is tremendous relief in knowing that you have finished what God the Father has called you to do. “Mission Accomplished!” is the triumphant cry of the victor.

Great tasks unfulfilled break the heart of the Father and small ones accomplished give the Father’s heart great joy.

Do not strive for that which I have not given you to do. Sometimes the task I call you to do is simply to “give them the words that the Father gives you to give them.” (vs. 8)

One of My great truths was to keep My children united in one. It is only as they are one as I and My Father are one, that they are perfect and that they can be a true witness to the world (vs. 21,23). Make this a part of your mission, to unite people of all Christian faiths in one.

Some of My last words on the cross were “It is finished.” That was My greatest shout of triumph and victory. My voice was not loud, but it echoed throughout this sin-cursed world into the farthest reaches of the heavens and down into the deepest pits of hell. It is finished! Satan was defeated. The final victory has been won!

Even so, My child, when you finish your life’s work and look into My eyes and report to Me that your mission is accomplished, and I crown your years of service with the victor’s crown, you will enter My glory, even as I entered My Father’s glory.

Glory comes with fulfilling the thing I have called you to do and becoming the one I have called you to be.
