Scripture Reading: Daniel 9:1-27
“In the first year of his reign, I Daniel understood by books the number of years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:” (vs. 2,3)
It is time that My children search out My Word and understand prophecy. The secret concerning My plans for the future is hidden in My Word, but very few understand.
Daniel prepared his heart to hear My instruction by prayer, travail, fasting, humility, and confession of sins, not only his sins, but the sins of his people (vs. 3-6).
Daniel set his face unto Me. This is the secret of praying through. You must learn and know how to pray through. You cannot get anything if you do not set your face. It is the same as when the pilot of the plane sets the auto-pilot in the exact direction of where he is going.
There will be many interferences and distractions that Satan will use to try to keep you from your goal, but as you fast, you will be able to overcome many of these hindrances and you will see in the Spirit the true reason behind all things.
Fasting helps you to see in the Spirit, to make true confession of all sins, not only your own, but those of others also. You will find others in the Spirit, and when you do, you will not only see their weakness, but why they are weak. You will be able to make true confession for them. Without honest confession, there can be no dealing with the sins, and no Divine help from Me.
You must rise above the weakness of others. A true intercessor does not take delight in Me judging another for his sins.
A true intercessor pleads to Me for mercy towards the cruel and seeks to show Me why the guilty one should not be judged. He tries to gain My forgiveness, not by hiding the transgressor’s sins, but by standing before Me in proxy (in place of the sinner), like My Son Jesus died in proxy for the transgressor.
This is the true intercessor, who can move heaven and earth.
- Know My will by the study of My Word (vs. 2).
- Set your face toward heaven (your goal).
- Pray and intercede.
- Fast.
- Walk in humility.
- Make your confessions (vs. 4-15).
- Plead for mercy (vs. 16-19).
Daniel prayed through. The mighty archangel Gabriel immediately responded, and not only did he get what he asked for, but much more. He was told he was greatly beloved and given understanding concerning the times. This is your true key to greatness.
