Greetings from the Philippines!

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20

Greetings from the Philippines!  For the past week, ETH&S Pete Snyder and I as well as others have been “sowing seed” as well as harvesting souls for the kingdom.  We have been granted unprecedented access to governmental seats of power as well as public schools.  We have been able to freely preach Christ as well as minister.  Pete has also been developing a TESL program incorporating English for Filipinos which he will launch in February.  Pastor Melecio and Evangelist John Bailey are building a Christian retreat center nearby. John has been sharing his miraculous deliverance from drugs and prison to the youth, and is being used greatly in the government’s moral recovery program. Missions isn’t always about ministering in churches.  We have literally been out in the harvest field. This area is surrounded by sugar cane fields as well as banana plantations.  Children are everywhere.

This is the hour for the Philippines, a poor nation whose chief export is a happy, cheerful people.  I felt last summer when the Lord gave me this opportunity to go that I was not to hesitate.  I put down my work in Israel and rushed to help others take in the harvest.  One church we attended last week in Bacolod had 73 new members join that week.  They now have over 700 members.  I have been speaking on Israel, its role in the end-times, and loving the Jewish people.  I have highlighted to many Jesus’ question to Peter: “Who do men say that I am?”  We have been praying for others to receive the Holy Spirit. I have felt in coming here much like what the Apostle Paul wrote about in his letter to the Corinthians:  “I have planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.” We have another week here until commitments elsewhere draw us away.  Please pray for us to have a successful harvest.  Pray also for our loved ones who are at home “guarding the stuff.”  Thank you for sending us here, and every soul we save will thank you in eternity.

Shabbat Shalom,
Gene Litte & Pete Snyder
