“The breaker [the Messiah, who opens the way] shall go up before them [liberating them]. They will break out, pass through the gate and go out. So their King goes on before them. The LORD at their head.” (Mic. 2:12-13, Amp Bible)
“I will surely assemble all of you, Jacob, I will surely gather the remnant of Israel. I will put them together like sheep in the fold; Like a flock in the midst of its pasture They will be noisy with men. Then I, GOD, will burst all confinements and lead them out into the open. They’ll follow their King. I will be out in front leading them.” (Mic. 2:12-13, Msg Bible)
Dear Intercessors for Israel:
As I was praying what scriptures to share with you this day, the LORD led me to Micah 2:12-13, especially the way it is written in both the Amplified and Message Bibles. I then found this wonderful devotion in part from Precept Austin, an interdenominational Christian evangelical organization whose stated mission is to engage people in relationship with God through knowing His Word. This is a site I visit regularly.
Christ the Breaker
Christ the Breaker, is found only once in Scripture in Micah 2:13. Micah says our Breaker “goes up before us” so wherever your path leads today, you can rest assured that your Breaker has already tread that path. Let us fix our eyes on His lovely Face and our ears on His winsome Voice. remembering that Christ never drives His sheep, but always leads them, clearing their way.
He is our BREAKER Who has broken all barriers and impediments that obstruct our way to God. The “Goliaths” among men cannot stand before Him or his weakest servant who is strong in His grace. Let this assurance be a source of comfort and confidence to your soul today. “He as the BREAKER has made the way POSSIBLE and PASSABLE.” Let us follow Him as we ponder His precious Name, THE BREAKER, looking especially at what transpired when our BREAKER was “BROKEN AND SPILLED OUT. www.preceptaustin.com
Bursting Forth from all Confinements
The news from Israel, parallels the scriptures I have placed before you today. The doors are open in the land and the captives have been set free. Israel after six weeks of “lock-down” has relaxed its COVID-19 restrictions, and life is slowly returning to normal. The malls and markets have been allowed to open, along with small hotels and bed and breakfasts. In Jerusalem, after six weeks of closure, shoppers were able to visit the open air, Mahane Yehuda market. First though before entering all shoppers were checked by security guards who took their temperatures, and made sure the market was not overcrowded. (You have to be there on a Friday morning to appreciate this statement. Usually the market is packed with wall to wall shoppers, all seeking a deal. It’s a social event!)
Schools are opening with some grades already started. Kindergartens and daycares are set to reopen on Sunday, while all students will return to classes by the end of the month. Universities and colleges are set to reopen on June 14. And for Sport’s crazy Israelis, there was news to rejoice. Restrictions were also set to be eased on sports and leisure activities. Parks were soon to be open and soccer (Football) matches were set to resume May 30,
This is life in the “new normal” in Israel. Tourists are still not allowed to travel to Israel, leaving a substantial portion of this nation’s businesses shuttered. Major, hotels are empty, holy sites unoccupied, and tour guides unemployed. Ben- Gurion airport is a ghost city. Last year it accommodated 5,000 tourists arriving an hour. Today, less than 5,000 citizens arrive/depart in a month (www.timesofisrael.com) Since April 12, all people arriving in Israel from overseas are required to be housed at state-run quarantine hotels upon entry to the country for 14 days.. El Al, the nation’s leading passenger carrier has canceled all passengers flights through June 30th and laid off most of its personal. The Corona virus is still a real threat but cases are declining here. Everyone is hoping and praying, that “affliction will not return the second time.” Join with us and pray this scripture from Nahum 1:9 for Israel.
Israel’s New Government
After 16 months of political turmoil, 3 inconclusive elections leading to a divided Knesset, the nation of Israel has achieved a “breakthrough.” Israel’s governing body agreed May 7th to endorse a coalition government. including rival-turned-ally Gantz. In order to assemble this coalition government, the nation’s Basic Law (similar to U.S. Constitution) had to be changed, and approved by the High Court!
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was voted to be the prime minister by 72 Knesset members, paving the way for him to finalize a coalition agreement with Blue and White party leader Benny Gantz and swear-in this new government next week. President Reuven Rivlin then officially granted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a two-week mandate to form his fifth straight government, which would keep him in power until November 13, 2021. PM’s Netanyahu’s official swearing-in set for May 13. Had the Knesset failed to come into agreement with 61 recommendations by midnight May 7th, the country would have been forced to go to a new election, the fourth in less than 18 months. (www.timesofisrael.com )
President Rivlin issued this statement: “I hope Israel will soon have a government that will deal successfully with the complex challenges that stand before us,” Rivlin said, noting the dual crises of the political stalemate and the impact of the coronavirus. (www.jpost.com)
Prime Minister Netanyahu has continued to lead the government during what is widely seen as the worst political crisis in Israel’s history, despite being under criminal indictment and incessant predictions of his political downfall.
Please pray for this incoming new coalition government. Pray for those persons who will be selected to fill the 34 ministerial portfolios (15 positions for Likud, 19 for Blue and White). Some MK’s are calling for a slimming down of governmental ministerial positions to 18 members. Pray for unity, clarity, and that personal agenda’s be laid aside.
God Television in Hebrew!
This week highlighted the broadcasting of Israel’s first Messianic network on Cable T.V. Protesters expressed their outrage to this Jesus invasion, with signs saying “Do not watch Hot channel 189.” Naturally out of curiosity, Israelis were quickened to view this “forbidden fruit.” Headlines appeared on Israel’s television channels and in the newspapers warning viewers “Messianic Network in Israel.”
God TV broadcasts to some 200 countries, worldwide from its studios in Jerusalem. Until now it has not been given a license to appear on Israel cable, but the breaker has come forth! God TV issued this statement on its Web site: “Today we made history! For the first time ever, a Messianic television channel is broadcasting the Gospel across Israel in the Hebrew language, Shelanu translates to ‘Ours’ in Hebrew. We want every person in Israel to know, not a foreign Messiah, but a Jewish one! His name is Yeshua and He has not forgotten His people.”
HOT cable television, received a seven-year license to air the new channel from the Communications Ministry. Responding to the decision Tuesday, Israel’s Communications Minister David Amsalem said he had not been aware that a license was granted and that he “will not allow any missionary channel to operate in Israel, at no time and under no circumstances.”
More than 700,000 Israeli households subscribe to HOT, nearly 50 percent of the Israeli market for cable, satellite and online services. The Christian channels Daystar and Middle East Television both broadcast on Israel’s YES satellite television but in English.
Shelanu is being operated in partnership with the Israel-based Tikkun International, which describes itself as “a global family of ministries, congregations and leaders, dedicated to the dual restoration of Israel and the Church.”
“We want Jewish viewers to grasp the fact that Jesus is theirs. That He is not a foreigner, intruder or impostor,” Tikkun said in an announcement of the new channel on its website. “He is their Jewish Messiah, born in Israel, raised as a Jew.” (www.timesofisrael.com)
The Breaker has come up and opened the way! Please pray for the success of this all Hebrew T.V. Channel “Shelanu” and that it is permitted to stay on the air. Pray the veil hiding the Messiah from His people would soon be removed.
Shabbat Shalom
