“If Any Man Serve Me”

“If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be:  If any man serve me, him will my father honor” (Jn. 12:26)

“The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne saving, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor  and power: for thou hast created all things and for thy pleasure they are and were created” (Rev. 4:10-11).

Dear Intercessors for Israel:

Greetings from Jerusalem and the House of Peace.  Ministry here, takes many forms, besides prayer and preaching.  It is  also being a servant to others, and to the Lord.   This past week, I found myself joining in worship with John and Jolene Hamell at Shepherd’s Field in Bethlehem.  Heaven and the angels came down to join us as our praises ascended upwards.  I came away refreshed, renewed and restored.  Monday evening came and I had the privilege of driving ETH Rebecca to the airport.  She was a recent terror attack victim, sufferings bruises all over her body from a car ramming incident near the city’s open market.  God spared her life as well as others, but she was still in shock.   I ask your prayers for complete healing.  Tuesday, a group of us traveled to the Qaser Yahud baptismal site along the Jordan River.  Here Peter J. and I baptized a brother in the Lord who was rededicating his life anew to Jesus.  As I was sharing the Word, about Jesus’ baptism and how the Spirt of God descended upon him like a dove, there were two doves resting directly above my head on a pillar!  It was for all of us, a heavenly sign that God still confirms His Word and that the Holy Spirit is like a dove, gentle, unassuming, pure and holy.  We all rejoiced.  Wednesday afternoon is prayer at the House of Peace.  Here, Marylois rallys the believers as they intercede for the needs of Israel.  Wednesday night brought another trip to the airport to drop off dear friends and co-laborers in Christ as they returned to the United States.  A few hours later, I found myself standing outside the House of Peace helping three houseguests “catch” a sherut (shared taxi) at 5:00 AM Thursday morning.  We greeted the day, praised the Lord while we were waiting (The sherut was late) and watched the sun rise.  Thursday night, we greeted another group of believers from Idaho as they came to stay with us.  Friday brings  shabbat and a time for fellowship.  This shabbat we are gathering in fellowship at Connie’s (a dear friend) apartment overlooking the Old City where we will praise and welcome the Lord once again.

Every week in the land brings with it, more ministry.  Sometimes, we are caring for the widows, or those that are burdened.  Our table at the House of Peace is always open and  serves as a ministry center as we gather around in fellowship or counseling and prayer, as well as sharing the Word.  Marylois will be leading via Zoom beginning May 7th  at 7pm, Israel time, a time of prayer and intercession for Israel for the next three weeks, in conjunction with Mike Bickle’s  Isaiah 62 global movement for the Jewish people.  The fast will cumulate on Pentecost Sunday May 28th.  Should you wish to join with her, click here the link for the Zoom call.  Israel is 7 hours ahead of the U.S. Eastern time zone.

Iran’s Ongoing Threats against Israel

Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced this week that Iran possesses enough enriched uranium to make five nuclear weapons.  Iran though still lacks the technology to “weaponize” this uranium by placing this material in its missiles or aircraft to deliver an atomic bomb.  Experts vary in their opinions as to the length of time needed for Iran to “nuke” Israel.   Some scientists believe it could take anywhere from six months to a year.  A leading “unnamed” U.S. Defense official recently said that Iran could weaponize its uranium in less than two weeks (jpost.com 5/5/23).  Keep this matter in prayer, and declare that “He who watches over Israel, neither slumbers nor sleeps” (Ps. 121:4).  Pray also that God will frustrate the plans of Iran’s Ayatollahs regarding their aim to destroy Israel.

Casting their Crowns Before Him

King Charles will officially be anointed ruler over the United Kingdom this Saturday.  He will take the title of Charles the Third.  It is our prayer that as this new monarch ascends the throne, that he will remain humble and bear in mind the actions of the four and twenty elders who cast their golden crowns at the feet of the Lord Jesus.  Only He is worthy to receive all glory and honor.

Shabbat Shalom,

Gene and Marylois/House of Peace
