Israel at War Update Day 30 House of Peace
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because the LORD has anointed me…..To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified (Is. 61:1a-3).
“For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying , This is Zion whom no man seeketh after” (Jer. 30:17).
Dear Friends of Israel,
My heart is broken and my soul is weeping. Yesterday, a lone soldier (one whose family resides in another nation), was murdered at a Police station close to Herod’s Gate which opens into the Old City. This young woman, Rose Ida Lubin age 20 and an American citizen, was a Border Police woman, responsible for the security of those who visit East Jerusalem. Her attacker was a 16 old Arab teenager, who while passing by, suddenly stabbed her multiple times with a knife. Such Islamic youth are shown lessons either through internet sites or Islamic “summer camps” to kill. They are instructed to aim for the victim’s neck, which is exposed above the body armor. Such attacks are deadly and Rose was already unconscious by the time Magen David Adom paramedics arrived. (I heard the sirens of the police cars and ambulance passing by the house.) Her attacker was “neutralized” by other border policemen. Such Arab youth here are regularly incited by the Imams in the mosques who in their weekly sermons, urge the faithful to wage Jihad and “kill Jews.” The Border police patrol areas outside the old “Green Line” and are dressed in military uniforms with M-16 rifles and body armor. Their task is dangerous, as Arab East Jerusalem although united with the rest of the city, can be a hotbed for terrorism.
Pray for Sergeant Lubin’s family. Pray for comfort for them. She grew up in Atlanta, and immigrated to Israel in 2021. Prior to her passing Rose also fought off terrorists who invaded her Kibbutz near the Gaza Border on October 7th. She then, after refusing time off, was redeployed to Jerusalem, to defend the city against terror attacks. Jesus says: “Great love has no man (woman) than this, that a man (woman) lays down his/her life for his/her friends” (Jn. 15:13). I salute you Rose, you defended us and many others from the evil one. We will not forget your sacrifice.
Rewarded by the Palestinian Authority
The Palestinian Authority (P.A.) rewards the families of those who commit such murders and attacks. Each family of the “martyr” is given a large monthly stipend by the P.A. These monetary rewards are also given to P.A. families whose sons are in prison. This sham government is led by the P.A. 88 year old P.A. President Mahmoud Abbas. He is a Holocaust denier, who refused to condemn the October 7th massacre of Israelis by Hamas. Abbas also refused to meet with President Joe Biden last month when he visited the Middle East and announced his support for Israel. Yet, just last week, he was available to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Blinklin. The Secretary “thanked” Abbas for his efforts to maintain calm in the so called West Bank. President Biden is “concerned” about Jewish “settler” violence in Judea and Samaria but the opposite is true, whereas, there has been many roadside shootings and killings by Islamic supporters of Hamas. The IDF has in recent weeks arrested hundreds of Hamas supporters in Judea and Samaria (West Bank).
Faces of the Israeli Hostages
A new internet site: www.kidnappedfromisrael.com/gallery has been set up. Go there and you will see the faces of those who have been abducted by Hamas. I would urge you, “Go there” and then pray, whether it is one minute or ten seconds for each one. Maybe take ten or twenty each day and pray. Prayer moves mountains and these captives need people to pray that God would either move men’s hearts to have mercy or give the IDF favor to find and release them.
This week, also Germany’s newspaper Die Welt (The World) will be publishing everyday a photo of an Israeli hostage. The first picture is of Sheri Bibas, a 32 year old Israelis mother with twins who was kidnapped into Gaza. Join with this newspaper and pray for her release and her children. Pray that they that dwell in darkness may be set free.
IDF Statement
A statement by the Commander of the IDF Southern Command Major General Yaron Finkelman was made today to the media. He announced that “We are fighting in these hours, in the most significant centers of the Gaza Strip. For the first time in decades, the IDF is in the heart of Gaza City, in the heart of terrorism and in the front of our eyes, all the time are the abductees who are being held captive by Hamas Your return is a compass for us. “ (Amir Tzafati: Telegram).
Pray for the IDF commanders and their soldiers as they seek to recovery the hostages. Pray for their safety, against hidden explosives, sniper attacks and enemies emerging from tunnels. Pray for the blood covering of Yeshua over their activities. May HaShem favor them in their search. May the LORD God grant them miracles.
Cumta Alerts
Marylois and I have a missile app on our smart phones. It has been quiet most of the day and I was about to write that these “flaming arrows” were diminishing, but I was mistaken. Hamas has launched some 9000 rockets so far against Israel. They have a estimated storehouse of about 20,000 missiles. Tonight as I write this update, the rockets are pounding Tel-Aviv and the surrounding areas. Pray that these cursed weapons and those who shoot them be eliminated.
Marylois and I are safe in our watchtower, overlooking Jerusalem. Tonight there is a brilliant shaft of light illuminating the night sky. It is there to remind us of the hostages and those whose lives are no longer with us. October 7th has been a sobering day to remember for Israelis and they will not forget it. At the Wall (the Kotel) last night (the start of the new day) were 1400 candles burning, all in memory of those who were murdered last month. The survivors of this attack attended this ceremony. Songs of comfort and consolation were sung in memory of the victims. Psalms for the deceased were also recited and memorial prayers. The Mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Leon also was present and spoke a prayer for the protection of the IDF soldiers and security forces (www,thekotel.org).
This is the one month anniversary of Hamas’ attack into Israel. Even El-Al, Israel’s national airline is asking it passengers to observe a minute of silence in memory of the victims of this past massacre and the war where some 30 IDF soldiers have given their life for the defense of this nation.
May the LORD Comfort His people and grant them success in battle. Thank you for praying!
