Loving greetings from Michigan! I came for a couple days with my 90-year-old dad, Rev. Ed Cooper.
Apostle Barbara Yoder invited me to attend a series of meetings in Ann Arbor, Flint, and Detroit, with Tim Sheets, Dutch Sheets, and Chuck Pierce, with Steve Swanson leading worship, December 7-10.
Here’s a quote from Barbara’s general email:
“These are specific meetings to breakthrough over the region; breaking it into awakening and Harvest. Several years ago, Chuck Pierce prophesied that the match would be struck in Flint, MI. He said that the move of God would move forward across this region from there. This is why we are calling these gatherings, “strike the match” as we believe it will awaken a movement over our region, state and the entire Great Lakes region. There is a stirring of the Spirit of God over the Great Lakes region. In the past few months as I’ve prayed for Michigan, I constantly see visions of whirlwinds over the Great Lakes. I’ve been attempting to discern what that means and at this point I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s a time of extremely heightened activity over this area; God activity, which releases revival, awakening and harvest.”
Michigan is very special to me because I grew up here. Some of my ancestors came here in the early days of the settling of state, and my great-great-great grandfather was the County Surveyor in the early days of Flint. I’m excited to be able to attend these meetings.
I find it significant that Flint has had a crisis with their water system and there are several deaths in connection with it. The city is in the process of replacing lead and iron pipes that have led to contamination of their water when they changed their water source to a polluted river. It is also interesting to note that the state’s chief medical examiner who is being charged with involuntary manslaughter, is named Wells, and the special prosecutor is named Flood. Water is one of the types of the Holy Spirit, and we know that God’s outpouring (think Niagara Falls) is imminent. It’s not enough to have wells of water, we must expect floods!
I continually return to the prophetic word that was given in the 1930’s:
“It shall come as a breath…
And the breath shall bring the wind…
And the wind shall bring the rain.
And there shall be floods and floods and floods…
And torrents and torrents and torrents.
Souls shall be saved like falling leaves from mighty oaks swept by a hurricane. Arms and legs shall come down from heaven…
…And there shall be no ebb.”
Please join us in prayer as we press in this weekend for God to “strike the match” and awaken the movement of the Holy Spirit that will reverse the contamination of sin that has dealt a death blow to this region.
I am reminded of Jeremiah 2:13,
“For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, [and] hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.”
It is time for Flint, and all of Michigan in the Great Lakes region, to return to the source of living water, our awesome Creator! Jesus paid the price for this restoration, and we want to see Him get what he paid for!
I remember being told as a child that Native American lore described Michigan (which is shaped like a mitten) as where God placed His hand to steady the earth. Michigan has its shape because of the waters that surround it. Part of the Great Lakes water system is Niagara Falls, so I believe that we can fully expect these words to come to pass with a great outpouring of the Living Water and Glory Fire of God, who is the All-Consuming Fire. May this move of God start in Michigan and be used to bring the stabilizing of the Kingdom of God to the earth!
Thank you for your prayers for this move of God to touch and transform every household in the region and that it will continue to pour throughout the nation and world.
