Scripture Reading: Genesis 1:2-4a
“Now the earth was unformed and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters. And God said, ‘Let there be light.’ And there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good;” (Genesis 1:2-4a)
When God said, “Let there be light, ” He brought His Divine Presence down to the scene of chaos, which had at one time been a beautiful world, but which, through some great catastrophe, had become “without form and void.”
Whatever had happened between verse one and verse two must have been very chaotic because God creates everything good. But now darkness was upon the face of the deep — a terrible darkness that could be felt.
But when God, Who is the Light of the universe, stepped on to the scene, He brought all the Light that Heaven could generate (He is the source of Heaven’s Light), and He covered the earth with a mantle of Light which Heaven calls “Love.”
And that is how love entered every atom of God’s creation. Without the life of God, and without His love (which is the source of all creation) the world would still be without form and void and darkness would still cover the face of the deep — and we would not exist. We are only here because of Love and Light.
Daily I pray for God’s love, which began the work of creation, to illumine my life so that I can be worthy of His great love.
Pray for God to let it fill every atom of your being to recreate health and life and purity of soul so that you might have the innocence that our parents had on that first morn of their creation — even the innocence and purity of our loving Elohim Parentage.
