Scripture Reading — Philippians 1 : 1-11
“And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ; Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.” (Philippians 1:9-11)
My beloved, this is the prayer of the Holy Spirit which the Spirit prayed through Paul for the believers of Philippi (Acts 16:12-40). The first convert of their area was a woman, Lydia. She was as zealous in her new-found faith as she had been in her business. She immediately believed the Gospel message and was baptized. Then she opened her home to Paul and his party. After Paul was released from prison, he returned to her home and left from there to continue his ministry. It was the first church of Macedonia (today’s Europe).
To you, My child, I say, let your love grow and grow, just like Lydia’s love grew. The true sincere love, which she had for Me when she worshipped on the river on the Sabbath opened her heart to greater truth and knowledge and gave her the spirit of true judgment, so that she was able to accept the truth when she heard it.
Pure love does not blind the eyes, it opens them to truth. I desire that you be sincere, without offense, till the day of My appearing. For you may hide the flaws from others, but never from Me. I will not put My fruits of righteousness in a vessel that is unclean and filled with offensive rubble. Let love purge your vessel now.
