May 1: Giving to God Releases Heavenly Blessings

“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it” (Malachi 3:10).

There is one bank that never fails. Every deposit you make in it is secure in this world and in Heaven. It is The Bank of Heaven, also known as “The Storehouse.” In Bible times there were no banks; instead, people had storehouses (Genesis 41:56), and barns (Proverbs 3:10).

I promised to meet the needs of My people; but it was essential that they made “deposits” in the Bank of Heaven, so they had collateral from which they could draw to meet their needs. I told them in Proverbs 3:9-10 “Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.” I promised them that if they would be faithful in their giving to Me, I would rebuke the devourer, and bless their harvests. And they would be the happiest, most prosperous nation, because I would bless them.

The Chinese name for America is “Beautiful Kingdom.” That is because there was a time when the eyes of the world saw beauty and goodness in you. You were a nation dedicated to Me. But Satan sent demons into your beautiful “Garden-Kingdom,” and through sin, crime, and greed, he gradually robbed you of your beauty. Now you are hated, and often called, “The Ugly Americans.” Moreover, you are not only hated by the world, you also are The POOR America; you, who once were The Rich America, the wealthiest nation in the world. You have tried to buy the love of the nations through your generous gifts — all to no avail. They wanted your money, but they didn’t want you. Now they don’t even want your money! There is a curse on you, as Malachi says, “Repent, and return to Me, and bring your tithes and offerings that you have kept for yourself. Begin by being honest with Me. Don’t try to rob Me of what belongs to Me.”

Your dishonesty has brought a curse on you. When you steal what is Mine, you put yourself under a curse. Your purse has a hole in it, your tank has a leak, your body is failing in health, your families are falling apart, and your beautiful churches are full of fighting and division. Your shepherds divorce their wives, and run off with young women, leaving their grief-stricken wives, their children, and their flocks, while the world mocks you.

Come back to holiness! Come, bringing your stolen tithes and offerings! Come now! Come quickly! Don’t wait, or it will be too late; they will carry your body to the cemetery while you are still young, like they did with Ananias and his wife Sapphira, when they lied to the Holy Ghost concerning their love-offering (Acts 5:1-10)!
