November 14: Strength in the Suffering

Scripture Reading: II Corinthians 4:16-18

“For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding eternal weight of glory;” (II Corinthians 4: 16, 17)

Your outward man and your inward man are really like two different parts of you. Terrible suffering and physical wounding can take place upon your outward man. But the inward man will never perish as long as it is renewed day by day through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. Let men do to your outward body what they will, your inner self is safely hidden and protected under the covering of My Holy Spirit.

All suffering seems to be eternal and more than we can bear, but in comparison to My sufferings, it is counted as “a light affliction which is but for a moment.”

In comparison to the glorious result from suffering and the rewards that it gives, all of your suffering is as nothing. You need to compare your suffering with the rewards that will be given unto you. I know that from your side of the veil this is very difficult and almost impossible. It is only as the eternal rewards are revealed by the Holy Spirit that you can begin to fully appreciate the “far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” which awaits you.

There are different degrees of glory, and not all who are called to endure vigorous and difficult training can undergo the restrictions such training imposes upon them. Many will fail in their life’s highest calling and not even realize it because they will justify themselves. But I call you to accept all suffering as an example of what I can do through a yielded vessel.

And you can succeed because your inward man shall be renewed for each day. As your sufferings and testings for this day are, so shall be your renewal.
