November 28: The Right Sorrow and the Wrong Sorrow

Scripture Reading: II Corinthians 7:10-16

“For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.” (II Corinthians 7:10)

Yes, there are two kinds of sorrow. The first is the working of the Holy Spirit in your life. It is feeling My heartbreak and weeping My tears. You have prayed, “Let my heart be broken with the things that break the heart of God.” So I have allowed it to happen. Be careful that you are not so overwhelmed with My sorrows which I have for those who grieve Me and who are wrong that it imbitters your soul. No one on earth is treated as wrongly as I, yet I love and forgive those who grieve Me. Do not hold a grudge against anyone for My sake. Let your sorrow be My sorrow, for that is a godly sorrow. It is the pure search-light that sees its own faults more clearly than its brother’s.

Do not allow Satan to affect you with the sorrow of self-pity. If you do, it will work death to your spiritual life. Repent daily, from your heart, for your sins and keep your own heart pure. Let My Spirit reprove, rebuke and exhort you, so that My glorious work of grace and redemption might be perfected in your life.
