Scripture Reading—Psalm 119:57-61
“The hands of the wicked have robbed me: but I have not forgotten thy law.” (Psalm 119:61)
Satan is the great thief I spoke about in John 10:10 who came to steal and to kill and to destroy. But “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
The wicked one has put bands and chains of wickedness on most of mankind. Sin enslaves and makes people powerless to serve Me as they should.
Have your past sins enslaved you and put you into bondage to the devil in such a way that you cannot be free and happy? Has the devil robbed you of your purity, joy, and innocence? Has he caused you to lose your testimony before the multitudes and put you in bondages of guilt and shame? Has he robbed you of your ministry, your honour, your friends, your open door, and then stood beside you to accuse you and mock you?
My beloved, I came to undo all his works and to set at liberty them that are bruised (Like 4:18), and I have sent you to do these same works.
If you will fast and seek My anointing, you can have the same authority over the works of the devil. This is the fast to which I have called you, “…to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free and that ye break every yoke” (Isaiah 58:6).
Until I fasted forty days, I could not do the mighty works which I spoke of in the synagogue in Nazareth. But the Spirit of the Lord drove Me into the wilderness (Mark 1:12) to fast until I had broken through. And I returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee and there went out a fame of Me through all the region round about and I taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all (Luke 4:14, 15).
You do not need to end your life in the bands which Satan has put around you. There is deliverance. If you will fast and seek My face and let My Word have preeminence in your life, you will surely overcome and break the bands of wickedness that have first robbed you and then accused you.
Break through, that you might become a great instrument in My hands. Remember, I am the true Good Samaritan who will heal and save all who have fallen prey to the wicked one.
