“Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her” (John 20:17-18).
“Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not” (Mark 16:9-11).
There were several groups of disciples who made that early morning visit to My tomb. Some saw the great stone rolled away, some saw an empty tomb, some saw “the linen cloth” folded and lying there in the empty tomb; some saw angels, who gave them a message; but there was only one of them that saw Me on that early morning, while it was yet dark: Mary Magdalene, out of whom I had cast seven devils.
All of them loved Me, but she had loved Me the most; and was the most heart-broken of them all. That is why I stopped on My journey from Hades to Heaven, to reveal Myself to her, and bring her comfort, joy, hope, and peace. I did not allow her to touch Me because I was on a mission to present My Sacred Blood to My Father. But My Father gave Me permission to interrupt the greatest mission of earth and Heaven, because of her broken heart.
I always hear the cry of a broken heart. I hear your cry, too! Paul wrote to the Romans in 12:15, “Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.” When you share your burden and pain with Me, I help you carry it. I weep with you. Did I not promise that I would be with you always. I am at your side right now. If only the veil could be removed from your eyes, you would see Me standing by. You are never alone when you pray. I bend My ear to hear every word you speak. I love you so much, that there are no words in any language on earth to express it. It is only by the revelation of the Holy Spirit that you can begin to understand this Perfect Love that passeth all understanding.
When Mary saw Me, she knew how much I loved her. This love dried her tears, filled her with unspeakable joy, and sent her running on a life-long mission to tell the world the good news, “I have seen the Lord!”
You need a fresh revelation of Me today. That is why I allowed you to suffer a broken heart, the kind of broken heart that only comes when you have laid someone you deeply love in the grave. Go visit your beloved’s grave, and I will meet you there! And then, you too will have a message of joy for the world. Tears turn into joy when I come to the Garden of Tears.
