About the Author Prize-winning author, Dr. Charles Ludwig, grew up in Kenya, the son of missionaries. He has traveled in scores of countries and preached in many of them. He has written 1500 articles, stories, and serials, as well as fifty books. His writings have appeared in Braille and in fourteen languages, and have been published on six continents. A number of his books have been read or dramatized on world-wide radio. In gathering material for this book, the author and his wife, Mary, started at the beginning of the Oregon Trail in Missouri and followed the trail, visiting many places along the way. In addition, they made two other trips to the Northwest. He says that he thoroughly enjoyed researching the geographical and historical backgrounds for this story of Jason Lee.
