“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18).

You become what you worship and admire. The kind of friends you associate with will influence your life. If you live with critical, angry, greedy, gossiping people, you will soon find yourself picking up their negative spirit. People who live in fear transmit that fear to you before you realize it.

That is why it is so important that you are careful with whom you associate. There is power in the eyes to impart the same spirit that possesses one person to possess another. The spirit of strong sexual, pornographic, and adulterous perversions is imparted from one person to another through the eyes, the voice, and physical touch, such as kissing, or “the laying on of hands.”

Always avoid looking directly into the eyes of someone whose life is not pure before God. Never look at movies or pictures that would stir up unholy desires in your flesh. It is also important that you read only the kind of literature that holy saints would read. Keep your mind on the positive, the Pure, and the holy. Remember what St. Paul wrote in Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” And when it comes to music, be careful not to listen to, or become addicted to, the kind of music that is out of tune with the melodies of Heaven.

Keep your eyes on Me. I am your example of purity and honesty, and courtesy. There were no flaws in My earthly life. I kept in communication with My Father. As you follow My example, you are looking at Me; and as you look at Me, you become like Me, and you are daily being changed from Glory to Glory. The closer you are to Me, the more you will lose your old nature and become one with Me.

It is possible to become more glorious as you grow into My likeness and live by My Law of Love. Love is the true manifestation of My Glory. You are called to imitate Me, or even better, to become like Me, until people will not see you, but Me. Sing from your heart that little song:

Let the Beauty of Jesus be seen in me;
All His wondrous compassion and purity.
Oh thou Spirit Divine, All my nature refine,
Till the Beauty of Jesus is seen in Me.
