“Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving: Pray also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ for which I am also in bonds: That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak” (Col. 2-4)
“But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block and unto the Greeks foolishness. But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.” (I Cor. 1: 23-24)
Dear Intercessors for Israel:
Greetings from “the land down under,” “Oz” or Australia! Australia is a land of only 25 million people, a large continent with a small population. Marylois and I are here in Brisbane for the next two weeks at the invitation of Bruce and Cheryl Lindley from ARC International. God has given us a great and mighty door to go through. During our time here, we will be ministering Jesus and speaking about Israel in churches, Messianic fellowships and homes.
A Secular Nation
Perhaps you might wonder “Why go to a Christian nation like Australia, to preach Christ?” A past Gallup poll, revealed that nearly 70% of all Australians regarded religion as “Having no importance” in their daily life. A more recent survey published by Christianity Today shows that
1) Half of all Australians don’t identify with a religion
2) Only 40% consider themselves Christian.
3) Church abuse is the #1 obstacle blocking the faith of Australians.
4) Only 1 in 3 believe Jesus was the Son of God with divine powers and
5) Nearly 30% have no idea where Jesus lived.
The religious and spiritual landscape of Australia is diverse and changing. Facts taken from the 2018 Australian Census, showed major changes in the ranking of religious identification groups in Australia. “No religion” leads the choice of all religious groups, followed by Catholic (22%). Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Sikhs, and those who identify as Jewish are still growing religious minorities.
Please pray for us, that the LORD would give us a “door of utterance” to reach those souls that sit in darkness by the wayside. Pray for the fires of revival to be stirred afresh in souls.
Philippine Mission Trip
Next month, I will be traveling to the Philippines from September 10th to the 25th to be with Peter Snyder and Pastor Melecio. We will be teaching a week-long Bible seminar to local pastors, plus speaking and ministering in churches. We would like to buy a 150cc motorcycle for Pastor Melecio to use so he and the church elders can evangelize families and workers out in the rice and sugar cane fields as well as areas unreachable by car. If you would like to help us, please send your gift either to ETH at P.O. Box 447 Jasper, AR 72641 and mark it “Philippine motorcycle ministry” or, You can also send funds to my PayPal account which is crownoflifeministries@yahoo.com You will be blessed. The fields here are “white unto harvest!”
Israel Elections
Israeli elections are just a month away, September 17th. The latest polls reveal that Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Likud party holds a one seat lead over its challenger, the Blue and White party: 30 seats to 29. Another right wing party: Yemina, is projected to win 11 seats. The religious parties may bring in 15 seats. To assume the Prime Minister’s position, a total of 61 seats must be held out of the 120 seat coalition. Best estimates of the leading pollsters, only place Prime Minister’s Netanyahu coalition at being 54 seats, not enough to form a government, without inviting the opposition in to rule.
Please pray for Israelis and that they vote
Shabbat Shalom,
Gene and Marylois
