Expressions of the Heart

Dwelling in the Secret Place

Loving greetings from Jacksonville, Florida with Psalm 91:1-3 from the Amplified Classic:

“HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust! For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.”

Just like I refused to use the name of that group in the Middle East that were beheading people so they could set up their kingdom (I called them the Psalm 2 people), I am referring to this virus that is scaring the world as “that pestilence.” The word corona means crown, and I refuse to “crown” a virus or give it that much respect. I prefer to give Jesus my Royal loyalty.

I’m very happy to hear that so many are stepping up in prayer regarding this issue. I feel that this is a test to show us where we are in the Body of Christ regarding our authority. It is critical that we learn to step up in the maturity of sons of God according to Romans 8:14. “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” You probably know that the word “sons“ in this scripture refers to mature sons who have been working with their father in the family business. When the son reaches that point of maturity, the father says of him to the elders, “This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.“ At that point the elders know that they can do business with the son in the same way that they would with the father. He can sign checks and make business deals on behalf of his father. He knows his father’s heart.

In the days that are upon us and those that are yet to come, we are being challenged in our maturity and our authority. Each challenge is most likely to get more difficult. But with each challenge comes an invitation to draw closer to our Father’s heart.

Immature, Soulish Prayers

We can pray all day or night from our reasoning, emotions, or will and accomplish little or nothing of eternal value because we are praying soulish prayers.

In fact, our soulish prayers are likely to complicate matters. Psalm 103:20 says,
“Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.” When we speak the Word of God from the Spirit, His holy angels hear how we give voice to His Word and they respond with obedience, getting the job done.

However, there are other spiritual entities (fallen angels, etc.) who are also paying attention to our words, hoping that we will speak what is on their agenda so that they can take action from our words. They are thriving on all the fear and speculation, expecting to bring as many negative words to pass as they possibly can. Lives are at stake depending on our words. It is literally true that “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life]. [Matt. 12:37.]” (Proverbs 18:21 AMPC)

And we cannot afford to walk in fear. “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control” (2 Timothy 1:7 AMPC).

We are in training for reigning, but it doesn’t come by mental agreement, it comes by receiving revelation understanding by the Spirit of God. It requires us laying down our will to surrender to our Father’s will in loving, trusting relationship that births genuine authority. Declaring our thanks to Him can open a wellspring of joyous love that will drive out every fear.

Our authority comes when we are operating in the spirit. The Holy Spirit within us is knit with our spirit and inspires us to “author“ decrees. This is the place we must live in this time of trial—not only to dwell in ”the secret place of the Most High” for our survival, but to carry that bubble of protection into the dark and dangerous places where the light is needed as the Lord leads us.

We go there first on our knees: “If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14 AMPC).

We are including a “cease and desist order from the courts of Heaven” in this prayer letter. Find someone who will get in agreement with you in the Spirit and let’s pray and decree against the pestilence on this level. We must overcome this foe to be prepared for the next one that’s coming. There’s no time to lose!

Florida Visit
Back in November, Philip and I were unable to attend Mama Glenyce Doorn‘s funeral, and we promised Papa Doorn that we would come to visit him in March on our return from our Israel tour. We also scheduled some meetings in Jacksonville in our branch for this weekend. We had to postpone the Israel tour and Jerusalem Summons until November, but we didn’t feel that we could postpone this trip. So we are on our way to keep our promise.

Thankfully, Papa Doorn is making plans to attend the Global Outpouring Convention 2020, July 7-10, at the Hyatt Regency DFW and Dallas. We hope that you are also planning to be there. You can go to our website to get the link to make reservations [https://globaloutpouring.org/convention/]. We hope to have registration open soon. I will be announcing the speakers in our first quarter letter that we hope to get out by the end of the month. It’s very exciting news!

Podcasting

We have also signed a contract with Charisma Media to produce a weekly podcast, beginning as soon as possible. So after we visit Papa Doorn next week, we will be stopping by their offices in Lake Mary to make a podcast with them, talking about what God is doing in this ministry and the changes the Holy Spirit is leading us to make with our new name, etc.

In case you don’t know what a podcast is, when our generation was listening to radio programs, this younger generation downloads podcasts to listen to as their schedule permits. It’s very much like radio, only you don’t have to tune in at a certain time to catch a broadcast.

Praying Through

We are so grateful to those who are standing with us in prayer! We need some real breakthrough and break out prayer right now. It feels like we are on the verge of a great shift, but there are strong hinderances. Please pray for us!

Your handmaiden and servant,

Sharon and Philip
